In progress- Completed- Most helpful warmup- 1. The guitar outside of Rockin' Roller Coaster at Disney is represented in my piece. This is important to me because I go to Disney world every year with my family, and when I go this is my favorite ride.
2. I found painting the guitar strings the most challenging part of this piece. 3. I feel that the guitar as a whole was the most successful part of this piece. 4. To create this piece I started with the sky and moved down in the background until I got to the ground. I then painted the guitar on top of the background. 1.From these activities I learned different painting techniques, and how to create different tones with paint. I also learned how to create textures while painting.
2. I think the photos of color matching will be the most helpful for the painting I have planned. This is because it will help me create accurate colors when painting. 3. I gained the most knowledge from learning how to create textures with paint, because prior this I didn't know how to create textures other than a smooth looking finish. 4. You can make brown by mixing any two opposite colors on the color wheel. Examples would be green and red or yellow and purple. 5. You would tone down the color by adding grey. Joachim is a Belgium street artist that creates large murals with bright colors. At six years old he was introduced to street murals, and as he grew in age his interest for them developed. As an adult he started artwork on canvases, and eventually he took this skill to murals on walls. Some of the artwork he creates is as much as 88 feet tall and cover entire walls of buildings. He uses bold lines, dynamic poses, and contrasts with every piece to make his work complete. He has an instagram and facebook account where he shares some of his work, you can find these at https://www.instagram.com/joachimofficial/ and
https://www.facebook.com/joachimstreetart/ . Joachims work inspires me because I think its so cool that he creates art that so many get to see. Unlike most other smaller drawings on canvases and similar mediums, you can view and appreciate his work easily without having to go to a museum or something of a similar idea. I also love the brightness and brightness of his work and the compelling effect it provides. Charcoal-
Pros- The pros of using charcoal for your art include its easy to smudge so you can get an even look, and you can easily get dark values when using charcoal. Cons- The cons of using charcoal for your art include its very messy to work with, and harder to erase then pencil. Pencil- Pros- The pros of using pencil for your art include its more precise then charcoal, and its easier to erase. Cons- The cons of using pencil are its harder to smudge, and the many different shade options make it difficult to know which would be the best for the given artwork. Pen Pros- The pros of using pen for your art include they make nice crisp lines, and theirs not multiple different ones you have to uses like with different pencil or charcoal values. Cons- The cons of using pen for your art include you cant erase it, and its harder to achieve different values. Value- The relative lightness or darkness of a color.
Composition- A work of music, literature, or art The warm up in this unit that was the most helpful to me was the blind contour drawing. This is because it helped me to focus more of the lines of what I was drawing rather than what my brain thought it should look like. I think this skill will benefit me later on in future drawings and art pieces I create.
